Luxury Hotel

Located near Pollenca in the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana, this former 17th Century monastery rises from a hillside of pine trees with its creamy orange facade with windowpanes peeking from its terracotta roofline. A dramatic arrival leads to an entryway of period olive presses under a pitched roof of timber beams and dramatic iron chandeliers hovering above Scandinavian stools and leather-clad chairs. The hotel oozes of another time, towering stone walls perfectly captured in moody amber lighting leading to clean glass doors that open to a teak resort deck with rectangular resort pool lined in loungers fluffed with thick terry cloth towels with upper row of fabric-draped cabanas.

The hotel is virtually is own private island with guests retreating only to sun on Cala de Sant Vicenc or make the trek to Pacha or El Divino preferably on a late mid-week night. Meals are taken in Restaurant 365 by chef Joan Marc Garcias offering salted cod and lamb loin in a arched dining room or on the outdoor terrace that essentially the hub of the hotel come summer. In-house Oliveda Spa specializes in native Mallorca body procedures utilizing homegrown olive oils for hour-long massage or multi-day rejuvenation treatments. During colder months, the spa is also home to the indoor pool and fitness center to endure the island's rainy season.

The Room

Crisp, slightly sparse guest rooms are houses in the former-monastery’s upper floors accessed via a dramatic spiral staircase from the main lobby. Double superior and double deluxe guest rooms vary in their views of the hillside and resort deck, simple one-room configuration with concrete floors and white plaster walls with integrated headboards with spotlights and impractical side writing desk. Larger Junior Suites come with or without private covered terraces with flowing mutedly decorated living and more luxurious bathroom area with soaking tub and rain showers.
